ARE YOU SERIOUS CLARK?

For some reason I always think of Randy Quade in the movie Christmas Vacation when I run under power lines. It's the part where he's explaining how everytime his precious wife cranks up the microwave he "Pees" his pants and forgets who he is for 30 minutes. Is it just me???

Ran an easy 5 miles today.

How Gumpy Lost His Groove

Beginners mistake today.  I went out for a run on a completely empty stomach.  I have to say the run was a waste except for the learning experience it produced.  I won't make that mistake again. Hunger kicked in about the first mile, and I couldn't find my groove for the rest of the run. Saturday is another day however.....

Trail Blazing

This past Sunday I ran 10 miles. This is the first time I've run 10 miles in the last 21 years. So for only running consistantly for the last 6 weeks, I'm pretty happy for hitting this mile stone. However, I am finding that I am a lot like a riding horse. The closer I get to the stable (home), the faster my pace picks up. I think it's because my mind is screaming " Good God Man, Hurry Up and Finish Already!" On a side note to that run, I was about 6 miles into it when a Police car pulled up realllllly fast and stopped next to me.  Apparently the house I was running by at that time was being robbed.  That's all I need is to be the one seen running from the scene.  Those early morning runs definately are not boring. I should pay a little bit more attention. That way I could be the neighborhood watch guy too.

Ran 10 miles this morning. Wanted to go 11 but just too humid. I'm happy with 10. Took off for the run about 3:45 this morning.  Felt good even when the bats started swooping. They're kinda fun to watch until they accidentally smack you in the head. I guess my distressed breathing has a high pitched sound in it that attracts them...LOL... Also got to see a shooting star. Don't see very many of those, but I saw one 10 minutes into my run. Good Day, Going to do a 12 miler this Saturday morning.

My Goals have changed this morning.  Registration opened up at midnight for the Houston Half Marathon, and I woke up at 3AM to sign up over the net. The dang thing was already sold out! So I signed up for the Real Deal. I'm doing the Houston Marathon on January 17. But the day got sweeter for me as well.  I ran 14 miles this morning. That's the farthest I've ever run in my life. That being said, I accomplished a half marathon and then some, so I guess this is going to be a good thing.  I accomplished 3 firsts this morning. 1. I signed up for my first marathon, 2. I broke my previous distance record, 3. I ran a little more than the equivilant of a Half Marathon. And all before 8AM. So if you'll excuse me now I'm going to sit in the bath tub the rest of the day and try to regain control of my bodily functions....lol..=)
